Comunidades religiosas e redes migratórias: o caso dos haitianos no Brasil

Abstract

Sugestão: This paper is part of a research conducted towards a Doctoral degree. The goal is to look at the relationship between religious communities and haitians migrations networks in Brazil. The research method involved bibliography, ethnography and open interviews. In the year 2010 the haitian immigration to Brazil has been intensified and as soon as these immigrants arrived in the country we observed the emergence of different religious (evangelical) communities. We follow some of these communities in the outskirts of SP and we present some of the results. These communities become extensions of migratory networks, articulating and favoring the migration of their followers.
