Abstract

Aware of the Catholic Church efforts in Latin America in pastorally self renewing, this article searches to think about a basic aspect of its missionary configuration: the parish territory. It represents the way how the territory has been conceived in the view of this renewal process of evangelization action, bringing to light some points of its problematic, as debated in the fields of geography and sociology. Based on this referential currently lived present questions about parish renewal are placed, aiming to have a more intense “missionary” action. In the middle of this debate the place occupied by the human mobility pastorals shows importance, as an issue of questioning, as well as a real opportunity of missionary experimentation, mainly at the urban space.
