This article aims to identify the reasons for the displacement of Cuban professionals to the state of Roraima in the last decade of the twentieth century. We tried to understand how the displacement process, the challenges and the possibilities of living in Roraima took place and how these subjects revisit their place of origin and their relationship with Cuba. The main documentation was the oral source, through semi-structured interviews and a script related to the process of displacement, insertion and migratory experience. In addition to the oral source, were consulted printed newspapers, among other official documents. The collections of the Historical Documentation Center of the Federal University and the Regional Council of Medicine in Roraima were used as a source for data collection. The analysis of the narratives allowed other perspectives on the relationship of these professionals with their country, the marks of a memory of resentment and reunion with their place of origin. It was also found that the experience of Cuban professionals in Brazil, among challenges and possibilities, provided other achievements, not only professional, but also affective and identifying with Brazilian culture.
