This article seeks to reflect on the difficulty of immigrants and refugees in obtaining housing in the arrival metropolises. Therefore, we initially locate Brazil as a destination in recent migratory processes, highlighting present content in South-South migration. Then, we identify the world and Brazilian context of transforming housing into an increasingly rare and expensive merchandise. Common contents, present in both situations, are revealed by the presence of refugees and immigrants along with the occupation movements in urban buildings in São Paulo. By looking at the patterns of claims that emerged in this intersection of glances, we began to identify demands and perspectives that point to another city and society project.
