The article explores the connection between mixed marriage and migration, by using interviews with eight Brazilians immigrants settled in Rennes {France), especially one of them, and the typical likeness of the community Brazilians in Rennes, which is basically composed of Brazilians {especially Brazilian women) married to French men. The union with the foreigners emerges as a facilitator for international displacement of persons from lower social layers and, beyond, as strategy used by these people for migration to central countries.
