Abstract

In this article, I outline the scenario within which the process of Syrian refuge in São Bernardo do Campo develops, emphasizing its uniqueness in relation to other nationalities that take refuge in the country, as well as the specificity of the municipality as a receiving society. From the initial data of the field research, I also discuss how this process of refuge articulates with the sphere of kinship, since the bibliography and the initial data point to the importance of this aspect not only in the displacement process itself, but also in the development of life in the receiving country.
