Abstract

In this text, we present elements to understand how the production of the pandemic had a particular impact on communities located near meatpacking plants in the municipalities of Grande Dourados, in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, and of Cold Spring and Worthington, in the state of Minnesota, in the United States. USA. In addition to the epidemiological characterization of meatpacking plants as superspreaders of diseases among their direct workers from the work environment, we seek to present the meatpacking plants as responsible for the production of “contagion spaces” along their production chains.
